Most of us in recovery have realized the mask we wore in our darkness to hide from or run from our true selves. Hiding who we really are may work for a while but at some point it no longer works. The mask breaks and we fall into addiction to further run from our true selves. Nikki Dubose, a former model with Glamour, Vogue, FHM, and Vanity Fair magazines, shares her story of the demands of being perfect along with a life time struggle with PTSD. She suffered with eating disorders and other addictions that almost took her life. She now is an advocate to share the message of recovery to the world.
